SDL fundraisers give gifts in Vietnam

In December, eleven members of SDL’s Vietnam office were delighted to be able to make donations of cash and clothing to help 180 families who live in the Da Ra Hoa community in the Lac Duong province in Vietnam.

The gift-bearing colleagues traveled eight hours by bus and spent a night with the families of the Lac Duong province, one of the poorer provinces in Vietnam. They took with them the clothes and around $1,000 in cash, which they had raised with the help of SDL colleagues in Seattle.

After all the fundraising and travelling, it was a real treat for the 11 colleagues to be able to personally deliver 5kg of rice, a carton of instant noodles and clothing to each of the families in need. Perhaps even more impressive, the colleagues used personal connections and made contact directly with the families who received the donations.
