UPDATE 23RD FEBRUARY 2017: Thank you for showing your support for the MicroLoan Foundation by clicking on this link to help raise money for Random Acts of Kindness Day on Friday 17th February. We have now reached our target donation amount. Click here to find out how much we raised and how this money will help small businesses in Africa.
At SDL, we like to go further to help SMBs. For every click we receive to this post, SDL Managed Translation will donate £1 to their chosen charity – the MicroLoan Foundation. This worthy cause provides small business loans to women in rural Zimbabwe, Malawi and Zambia, and enables approximately 50,000 female entrepreneurs (each year) to set up their own self-sustainable business so that they can work themselves and their families out of poverty.
Why are we doing this?
It may not surprise you to hear that each year there’s a day dedicated to helping others. But did you know that there’s also a day set aside for celebrating, and encouraging, random acts of kindness? Friday 17th February 2017 marks the occasion, and many around the country are expected to take part by helping others, including SDL Managed Translation, who through their work helping SMBs go global faster fully understand how hard it is to start a small business and are using this motivation to to support the great work on the MicroLoan Foundation.
Whether it’s buying a colleague lunch, giving someone your seat on the train, giving in to your dog’s puppy eyes and throwing that ball for them one last time, or clicking and sharing this post… there are countless ways for people to take part in this annual celebration.
How else can you take part?
Here at SDL, we’re always keen to help others. And to honour the occasion, we’re encouraging our employees to do something kind and post their stories to #SDLisKind. Why not join in?
Donation amount is capped at £500, kindly sponsored by SDL Managed Translation, a cloud based translation platform for SMBs that provides quality translations powered by world-leading technology. The campaign will stop on Friday 17th February at midnight.
