Overwhelming Response to SDL OpenExchange Brings Record Downloads and Developer Participation

To mark 6th month anniversary of SDL OpenExchange, SDL launches competition to inspire innovation and extend SDL Trados Studio experience

SDL, (LSE:SDL) the leading provider of Global Information Management  solutions, has announced today a surge in usage of its innovative  SDL OpenExchange™.  SDL OpenExchange provides a unique, open industry platform which enables developers to extend and customize the capabilities of industry-leading products such as SDL Trados® Studio. It also acts as a web portal for developing, marketing and selling applications and plug-ins that leverage the open architecture of SDL’s language technology products. Only six months after its full launch, SDL OpenExchange has received over 15,000 application downloads and now has over 200 developers signed-up to the program. Some of the most popular apps listed include SDL XLIFF Converter, the MyMemory plug-in from Translated Srl and the ARCO lookup tool.

Publishing MultiTerm – Select, filter, and publish your content the easy way!

Publishing MultiTerm is the ideal add-on if you want to publish your terminology as a glossary, or if you want to export your data for re-use in other systems.

Publishing MultiTerm offers several ways to select the desired fields and data ranges, including existing MultiTerm filters, proprietary filters, and a clickable tree structure. Publishing MultiTerm then stores your selection as an export definition so you can repeat the process later either manually or through the Windows task planner.

SDL TTX It! – one of the first applications on SDL OpenExchange

In previous post on SDL OpenExchange blog, Massimo introduced the SDL OpenExchange program (or OpenX for short) and explained the benefits there of for both developers and end users. He also mentioned that we are starting with a small selection of applications we are going to offer via SDL OpenExchange straight away and that we (SDL Language Technologies) as well as third-party developers will continue releasing useful tools/plug-ins on OpenX.

SDL OpenExchange - An Introduction

In the last few weeks SDL Language Technologies has launched what I think is an incredibly exciting program which I personally think can change the translation software industry: SDL OpenExchange.

Perhaps I should start by briefly introducing it and by explaining what it is. With SDL OpenExchange we are releasing our Software Development Kits for SDL Trados Studio. This mightn’t mean much to the less technical among you but it will have a real impact on how translators and organizations who use SDL Trados Studio work.
