Users of SDL Trados Studio, who also employ XTRF Management Systems to manage the business aspects of their projects, are now able to take advantage of the new XTRF-SDL platform integration, in order to accelerate the project creation process.

Suitable for XTRF™ 2.6 upwards, the integration works with both SDL Trados Studio 2009 SP3 and 2011, and is specifically designed to further automate the most repetitive activities involved in the project creation process - at the click of a button.

It does this by carrying out the following tasks:

1. A predefined Studio-Integrated workflow creates a project in Studio,
2. XTRF™ asks Studio to do the analysis,
3. XTRF™ retrieves the results of the analysis and performs a financial calculation
4. XTRF™ sends the created SDL XLIFF file together with all resources to the specified translator
5. Once the translation workflow is completed the original format of file is created and sent to customer.

The result is a faster, simpler project creation process for XTRF™ users that eliminates errors and enables them to be more flexible in terms of project creation and management.

According to Tomasz Mróz, Operations Director of XTRF Management Systems Ltd “With the SDL Trados Studio integration it is possible to increase responsiveness to customer requests and substantially decrease the overhead costs of creation and management of repetitive projects with quick turnaround time. SDLXLIFF Compare is a compact and fast tool used for comparing SDL XLIFF files and display the comparison results in an XML/HTML report. The comparison report is formatted in a way that simplifies the understanding of what changes were made from one version of the file to the other, whether it is textual content or segment status modifications.

How many times do you have to go from SDL Trados Studio 2009/2011 back to Trados Workbench 2007 or send the Translation Memory to a client that does not use Studio?  How many times do you want to join a number of Studio TMs to one to create an Autosuggest glossary or to extract terminology using Multiterm Extract?  How many times do you need to export some or all of your SDL Trados Studio TMs to TMX?

How often do you wish the target => source language pair of your TM would be reversed?  Do you translate from English into German and from German into English or from any language to a language and the reverse and you wish your TMs can change language directions as fast as you can?  Search no more. This subject probably needs no introduction because everyone knows how to use Microsoft Word and has seen or used track changes at some point.  So this article is going to focus on how we use it in Studio 2011 and on how we have made this compatible with Microsoft Word to enhance the review process for both translator reviewer and subject matter expert in addition to being able to use this to provide consistent audit trail capability for any filetype.

Analyzing files in SDL Trados Studio can be onerous as translators have told us repeatedly. So, it was obvious for Kaleidoscope to develop a solution for this tedious task: goAnalyze!

This add-on enables you to perform an analysis of individual, several, and even zipped files. Furthermore, there is no need to open them in SDL Trados Studio. All you have to do before running the first analysis is to create a profile in the user interface of goAnalyze. This profile consists of the language combination, the translation memories to be used plus optional analysis settings.

SDL T-Window for Clipboard is developed to speed up translation process of not directly supported file types in SDL Trados Studio 2009 by using the Windows clipboard feature.

T-Window allows users to translate any clipboard content using SDL Trados Studio translation memories and to quickly transfer the translation to the target document.
