Greg Oxton speaking at Innovate 2012!

Those who have signed up for Innovate 2012 can look forward to Greg Oxton’s highly anticipated innovation workshop on day 2 of the March 5th-6th event. Don't miss out on great sessions at Innovate 2012!

Now Accepting Applications for Research Internships in Los Angeles

LA office2SDL / Language Weaver is looking for outstanding PhD students for summer internships with our research team in Los Angeles. Interns will work one on one with a mentor on a three-month NLP research project.

Our projects are centered around machine translation and natural language processing. The exact nature of the project will depend on the interests and background of the intern.

If interested, please send an email to Stephanie Cardona <scardona@sdl.com> by February 20, 2012, with "2012 Internship Application -- applicant name" in the subject. Please include your CV and a statement that describes your research interests and experience. U.S. citizenship is not required.

What about Consumers? We heard you…SDL EasyTranslator Beta is here, and it is free!

Over the years, we have gotten a lot of requests for an automated translation product for consumers that want to communicate with friends and family, or to help them learn another language.  Today, I am delighted to announce that this product is now available.  SDL EasyTranslator Beta, our new consumer application, is available today for download.  

We have been helping enterprises communicate with customers for a long time, but as it has become easier to communicate with people globally, it was time to give consumers the ability to access the power of real-time automated translation as well - in a very simple desktop application that makes  language barriers a thing of the past.

Last October, SDL launched SDL BeGlobal, the industry’s first cloud platform for real-time automated translation.  We traveled to cities in Europe, the US and Japan to showcase this new product to customers and prospects, and the feedback has been amazing.
