SDLTmExport: SDLTM to TMX Fast and Easy

by Costas Nadalis, TMServe: Translation Management Services

How many times do you have to go from SDL Trados Studio 2009/2011 back to Trados Workbench 2007 or send the Translation Memory to a client that does not use Studio?  How many times do you want to join a number of Studio TMs to one to create an Autosuggest glossary or to extract terminology using Multiterm Extract?  How many times do you need to export some or all of your SDL Trados Studio TMs to TMX?

The need to export SDL Trados Studio TMs to TMX for one or another reason is here and STLTmExport does the work for you fast and easily.

Specifying a path, or even a disk, SDLTmExport scans the directories and subdirectories below it and finds all the existing Studio TMs (*.sdltm). Each SDLTM file found is exported as TMX in the same directory as the SDLTM file. The user has also the option to move all the newly created TMX files to a specified directory for further processing or storage.

SDLTmExport is all you need for regular and ad hoc mass SDLTM exports for feeding other MT or CAT systems or storing TMs in TMX format.

SDLTmExport is user friendly, free of charge and runs on SDL Trados Studio 2009 and 2011.

I have the SDL trados student edition. I do not know why I cannot download the file, the error message says:

You are not licensed for any SDL products that link with this application

Thank you for your attention,

Andrea
